The focus of the workshop was on teaching the practical skills of using the Moodle platform and use of eLearning, its benefits, its barriers, and its application. During this 3 day workshop, faculty members were immersed in discussion around practical application of eLearning in the university, including opportunities for specific input on individual course materials and activities. Mr. Md. Masum Billah, Director, ICT and E-learning Centre, Bangladesh Open University facilitated the workshop. Inaugurating the workshop, Professor Dr. Md. Shah-E-Alam, Vice Chancellor, City University, said that I have witnessed the benefit of use of technology for teaching and learning during COVID 19. He also said that the workshop will enhance the capacity of our university teachers to offer online courses (as OER) through university Moodle platform for better learning of our students. Dr. Md. Mizanoor Rahman from Bangladesh Open University, the Special Guest in the inaugural session, said, “During COVID, what the conventional universities did – the delivery of classes through Zoom or Google Meet – is one kind of face-to-face delivery, not distance education and/or bended-learning (BL). Through using LMS, the City University will be able to implement in its delivery mode. Moodle is free and the University can use it without bearing any cost.” Professor Mir Akter Hossain, Registrar, and Treasurer of the University attended in the closing ceremony of the programme and awarded certificates to the participants. The workshop concludes with all participants have to have access to university Moodle platform for practice and to build out their planned online course resources and activities.
