Since its inception, the strategic objective of CEMCA has been to foster cooperation and collaboration in the use of electronic media resources to advance distance education across Asian Commonwealth countries. To achieve meaningful outcomes and impact, CEMCA initially identified five core strategies: partnerships, capacity building, material development, model creation, and policy advocacy. Most of CEMCA’s initiatives have effectively integrated multiple strategies, and in some instances, all five have been employed simultaneously.
Over the past three decades, CEMCA’s objectives and strategies have evolved in alignment with COL’s six-yearly Strategic Plans. Currently, they are guided by the COL Strategic Plan 2021-2027 while maintaining a sharp regional focus to address the unique challenges and priorities of Asian Commonwealth countries.
CEMCA is committed to addressing the education and training needs of diverse populations across Commonwealth Asia, with particular emphasis on marginalised communities, including women and persons with disabilities (PWDs). Through innovative educational technologies and resources, CEMCA ensures inclusive and equitable access to quality learning opportunities.
Under the current Strategic Plan, CEMCA aims to:
CEMCA’s objectives and strategies underscore its commitment to empowering individuals and communities through technology-driven education and training, ensuring no one is left behind.
