Faculty Development Programme Organised for Higher Education Teachers in Andhra Pradesh, India


Understanding the requirement of upskilling the higher education faculty members, the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA)in association with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh,organised a four-day faculty development programme (FDP) atSri Padmavati MahilaVisvavidyalayam (SPMV) inTirupati district of the statefrom 7 to10December 2022 on '21st Century Skills and Teaching Methodologies'. This workshop was attended by 46 faculty members (Male-25, Female-21) from various engineering colleges of Andhra Pradesh.

The inauguration ceremonywas attended by Prof.K.Rama Mohana Rao, Vice Chairman, APSCHE and Prof. Jamuna Duvvuru, Vice Chancellor, SPMV. During his opening remarks, Dr Rao appreciated CEMCA and APSCHE collaborationin organising thecapacity-building programme for faculty members, which will help them to sharpen their teaching techniques.

Dr Duvvuru also put emphasis on continuous learning of the teaching community to improvise their skill-set and learn about new digital tools to keep themselves updated with the latesttechnologytrends.

Mr Dinakar Reddy, corporate master trainer from CEMCA, engaged with the faculty members for fourdays, teaching various theories and practical methods related to teaching techniques and 21s century tools that can be universally applied to enhance ways of thinking, learning, working and living in the world.

CEMCA will be supporting APSHSE to upskill 200 higher education faculty members from Andhra Pradesh by organising a series of such FDP workshops across the state.
