Abstract:

The paper states that the problem of poverty in developing countries revolves around low production in subsistence farms. The predominance of small holdings combined with a large population and low literacy rate makes the task challenging in Pakistan. Describing the role of the mass media, the paper elaborates on the use of mass media to disseminate farm information, encouraging adoption of desirable farm practice. Some pre-requisites for effective use of mass media have also been discussed.
