|| PARD VAANOLI is functioning in a remote village and it has listeners in more than sixty villages in five blocks in Madurai District. The Community Radio Station is set with the minimum investment by the organization by name People’s Association for Rural Development (PARD). A committed staff team has mobilized the community support in producing the programmes without providing any honorarium to the community participants. It has mobillised more than 56 rural singers to sing cultural songs and now we have more than ten and a half an hour programme exclusively cultural songs by the rural singers. These songs are on various topics on awareness, local specialties, and importance of education, health and agricultural activitities. These songs are received by the community very much and so the message that we intend to provide for the community is well reached the community by its own members. .
PARD VAANOLI mainly produce its programmes on Education, Health, Sanitation, Sustainable Agricultural Practices and Leagal aid and Legal Education.

||People’s Association for Rural Development (PARD) is spending on the investment part of PARD VAANOLI and also the recurring expenses till date. As our Community Radio Station is functioning in the remote rural area, we could not expect local advertisements and hence it is in the high risk that the Community Radio Station is facing the problem that it could discontinue at any moment.
|| PARD has organized a community based programme in the name of A Village Today (Indru Oru Gramam – in Tamil). It has produced 56 one hour programme about 56 villages in its listeners area. Each programme deals with a village in which the community has given reason for the name of the village, the Village President is approached to describe about the Welfare Schemes of the Government in the Village and the Public had a voice to echo the needs in the villages. Elders were approached to describe about the Specialties in the Village and the Traditional Agricultural Practices in the village. The Education and Health Condition of the villages were spoken by the public. It has identified the Cultural Singers in the villages. Also special attention were given to describe about the local festivals and the temples in the villages. Yet we are planning to produce 12 more programmes regarding 12 villages. |
